Yesterday was intense! We started off slow with a quiet start to the day. After washing off half of Versailles (which we brought back with us - caked in our hair, skin and clothes).
We spent our day looking around La
Fayette - lower ground floor we discovered is where the shoe department is and they are certainly wonderful but not really shoes any of us would wear these days. Gloves, souvenirs, pandoras, hats were just some of our purchases.
However before our shopping spree we went to treat ourselves to a spectacular meal of iced cucumber soup followed by rare steak with fantastic crisply cooked veggies followed by wonderful pastries - all very yummy. OH. A glass of wine was also served
Fauchon is a wonderful venue to visit and indulge in the above delicious food.
In the evening we went to a beautiful restaurant with Del, Patrine and the boys. Chartres is a very old building and decked out like a train the photos do not do it justice! It was only a couple of stops on the metro from our apartment.
Only a few more hours on this wonderful full of history city. Till we return......
