Tired feet!!!

A walking day today..... a biggie!
The day began with the obligatory croissant and cafe in our local.... we did indulge in a bit of people watching as it Saturday and sunny and the Parisians were out in droves.
We then managed the Metro with the help of the book 'Paris for Dummies' and decided to do some market shopping.
We got out and wandered around until we found the Pompedu center - the building was of course amazing (what isn't amazing in Paris) but what we found more engaging was the brass band playing and the fountains and all the people just out enjoying the warm (but wonderfully not hot) sun and atmosphere.
We decided to enjoy the vibe and in very Parisian style, sat the wrong way around on cane chairs at little round tables and enjoyed our lunch.  Pauline went the fully Francofile and had French Onion Soup and Croque Monsieur where as Annie and I had more subdued fare - but we all bathed in the sunshine and the wonderful surrounds.   The fountain at the center had lots of mechanical surrealist fountains and sculptures spitting water the backdrop to this was a gothic ruin on one side and the very modern GP building on the other side.  quite wonderful really - the waiter we had at this eklectic place rather fancied himself - and wanted to make sure that we remembered him (and of course his tip) although he was pleasant enough and hopefully didn't spit in our food after our attempts to communicate in French....
After bring fully satiated we decided to just keep wandering.   we got lost (more than once) and Pauline found more than she bargained for (in more ways than one) when she insisted on going and looking at a patisserie  - see photos and I can say no more....  Anyway, we must have looked slightly pathetic as the French took pity on us .....   A lovely couple very sweetly stopped us and asked us if we were lost???!!!!  We of course were - and they very kindly offered advice about how to get to the metro station we needed.....  We took their advice and ot close to our line, but then we thought better of it and decided to keep walking until we got home.  Glad we did though, cause we found a great little jewellery store and managed to buy some cute stuff...... Without getting lost again we arrived (albeit slightly warn) at b St Martin - we were feeling a bit tired and emotional so we stopped for a light refreshment downstairs - feeling slightly better after our drinks we arrived back home at about 5pm.  Another big day with well earned blisters!.
Happy Father's Day too!
